Ready to dive into the world of AI humanizers again? Today, we’re taking a closer look at uPass.

Can it really make AI-generated text pass as human and slip past strict detectors?

We’ll test its humanizer, see how it handles different text, and check whether it lives up to its promises.

Let’s find out if uPass is the real deal or just another flashy tool.

What Is uPass AI?

uPass AI presents itself as an all-in-one tool for making AI-generated text sound more natural and less likely to be flagged by detection software. It combines both an AI humanizer and a detector in one platform.

The humanizer offers three rewriting levels — Basic, Advanced, and Aggressive — each controlling how deeply the text is transformed.

Why Do We Do This Test?

According to its website, uPass AI promises to “convert AI-assisted assignments, essays, or papers into undetectable content” capable of bypassing systems like Turnitin, GPTZero, Copyleaks, Originality.ai, ZeroGPT, and Sapling.

To see whether those claims actually hold up, we ran a few real-world tests to find out how well uPass performs across different detection tools.

Testing uPass AI

Methodology

Here’s the step-by-step approach we used to test uPass AI:

  1. We first generated a 100% AI-written passage using ChatGPT.

  2. Then, we ran that text through uPass AI’s Humanizer.

  3. Next, we checked the humanized version with five popular AI detectors to see its new AI score.

  4. We also reviewed the writing with Grammarly to fix grammar and clarity issues.

  5. Finally, we tested the corrected version again to check whether improving grammar affected the AI score. This helps us see if uPass intentionally adds small mistakes to trick detectors.

Testing Text

Topic: Autumn and seasonal change

Words: 80

Because the free trial of uPass only lets you input 80 words, our test text ended up about as long as a short social media post.

Still, to keep things fair, we went with a neutral topic that reads naturally and doesn’t lean on any emotional or academic tone.

For this test, we used the Advanced mode — one of the two available under the free trial (Basic and Advanced).

Test Results: How Well Did uPass AI Perform?

After running our text through uPass AI humanizer, we checked the humanized version using five popular AI detectors.

Here’s a quick look at the AI scores after using uPass AI:

What Do the Results Say About uPass AI’s Ability to Bypass Detection?

Overall, the results were a mixed bag. Most detectors gave near-zero AI scores, suggesting uPass did a solid job of humanizing the text.

The standout exception was GPTZero and ZeroGPT, which still flagged the passage as heavily AI-generated. This shows that even the “Advanced” mode can’t fool every detector.

Of course, passing AI checks is only part of the story.

To really judge its value, we also need to look at text quality — how readable, natural, and well-structured the humanized passage feels. That’s what we’ll examine next, from grammar to overall flow.

How Good is the Quality of uPass AI’s Humanized Text?

1. Overall Score, Grammar & Quality

After humanizing the text with uPass, we evaluated its writing quality. Overall, the passage scored 88/100. Most of the sentences were readable, but some could have been more concise or direct for clarity.

2. Accepting Grammarly’s Suggestions

Next, we applied Grammarly’s suggestions to polish the text. After making the recommended edits, the score improved to 95/100.

3. AI Detection Scores After Grammarly Improvements

We then ran the Grammarly-improved version through the same five AI detectors:

The results show that minor grammar improvements had little effect on most detectors.

A few scores shifted slightly — ZeroGPT even increased a bit — but the overall pattern remained: uPass reduces AI traces for some detectors, but not all.

In short, uPass can produce text that is both human-readable and moderately effective at lowering AI scores, though it isn’t a perfect bypass for every tool.

uPass AI Pricing

Free Trial

uPass AI offers a free trial, but it comes with limits. For example, inputs are capped at 80 words per request, and monthly usage is restricted for both the AI bypasser and detector. It’s not enough for full-length essays or papers.

Paid Plans

For heavier use, uPass provides several paid plans with higher word limits and more flexibility. The main differences are how many words you can process per request and how many humanization or detection requests you can make each month. Paid plans also include full access to all three humanization modes, unlimited history, and broader detector bypass support.

Pros and Cons of uPass AI

Pros

  • User-friendly interface: The layout is simple and straightforward. You can paste your text, pick a humanization mode, and get results without extra steps.

  • Supports multiple languages: The tool handles a wide range of languages, making it useful for multilingual writing.

Cons

  • Limited free trial: The free version caps inputs at 80 words — basically a tweet-length test, hardly enough for full assignments.

  • Inconsistent output quality: Some rewrites can feel robotic or uneven, especially with stricter AI detectors.

  • Doesn’t always bypass top-tier detectors: Even in Advanced mode, tools like GPTZero may still flag the text.

The Best Alternative to uPass AI

If you’re looking for a more flexible option, especially after hitting the limits of uPass AI’s free trial, EssayDone is worth checking out.

What is EssayDone?

Summary

After testing uPass AI, it’s clear it can bypass some detectors,

The free trial is extremely limited — basically just a taste — making it hard to evaluate properly.

If you’re looking for dependable humanization without risking poor quality or detection, you might want to consider alternatives.
